NWCG RT-130, Introduction to Wildland Fire Safety Refresher, is a comprehensive course designed to provide firefighters and fire managers with the essential knowledge and skills to operate safely in wildland fire environments. This course serves as an annual refresher to reinforce the importance of safety practices and updates participants on the latest developments in wildland firefighting. Topics covered include fire behavior, fireline safety, communication protocols, incident organization, and incident response. Participants will engage in interactive discussions, practical exercises, and case studies to enhance their understanding of safety procedures and promote a culture of safety within wildland firefighting operations.

NWCG S-130, S-190, L-180, Basic Firefighter Training, is a comprehensive program designed to provide entry-level firefighters with the fundamental knowledge and skills required for safe and effective wildland fire suppression operations. This course combines three modules: S-130 Firefighter Training, S-190 Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior, and L-180 Human Factors in the Wildland Fire Service. Participants will learn about fireline construction, hand tool use, safety procedures, fire behavior prediction, fire suppression tactics, and the role of human factors in fire management. Practical field exercises and simulations are incorporated to provide hands-on experience and reinforce the theoretical concepts covered.
We typically have students arrive prior to class with L-180 completed to minimize in class time.

NWCG S-131, Firefighter Type 1, is an intermediate-level course designed to provide experienced firefighters with the knowledge and skills necessary to serve as leaders in wildland firefighting operations. This course focuses on developing leadership abilities, crew organization, and advanced fireline tactics. Participants will learn about incident management, resource allocation, tactical decision-making, and crew supervision. Practical exercises, simulations, and case studies will be utilized to enhance participants' critical thinking and problem-solving skills in complex fire situations. Successful completion of this course prepares firefighters to assume responsibilities as Firefighter Type 1 in wildland fire incidents.

NWCG S-200, Initial Attack Incident Commander, is an advanced course designed to equip fire managers and supervisors with the necessary skills to assume command and effectively manage initial attack incidents. This course focuses on incident management organization, communication, size-up, and decision-making in rapidly evolving fire situations. Participants will learn to assess incident complexity, develop response strategies, coordinate resources, and prioritize actions to ensure a safe and efficient initial attack. Practical exercises, simulations, and case studies will be used to enhance participants' incident management abilities and prepare them for the challenges of leading initial attack operations.

NWCG S-211, Portable Pumps and Water Use, is a specialized training course designed to provide firefighters with the knowledge and skills necessary to operate and maintain portable pumps in wildland fire situations. This course covers the principles of water handling, pump operations, drafting, and hose lays. Participants will learn to select appropriate pump systems, calculate water flow rates, troubleshoot common pump problems, and establish water supply operations in the field. Practical hands-on training exercises will be conducted to ensure participants gain proficiency in the operation and maintenance of portable pumps.

This is an instructor-led course that provides an introduction to the function, maintenance and use of chainsaws. This course focuses on the use of chainsaws for bucking and brushing. This course is useful for agencies who do not require or want their members to fell trees.

NWCG S-215, Fire Operations in the Wildland/Urban Interface, is a specialized course designed to provide firefighters and fire managers with the knowledge and skills required to effectively address the challenges of wildland/urban interface fires. This course focuses on understanding the unique characteristics of interface fires, including structure protection, defensible space, and tactical operations in interface areas. Participants will learn about risk assessment, pre-incident planning, communication strategies, and coordination with structural firefighting resources. Field exercises, case studies, and group discussions will be employed to enhance participants' abilities to mitigate interface fire risks and protect lives and property.

NWCG S-219, Firing Operations, is a specialized course designed to provide firefighters with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and effectively conduct firing operations in wildland fire incidents. This course covers the principles of prescribed fire, including ignition patterns, firing devices, firing techniques, and evaluation of firing effects. Participants will learn about smoke management, firing operations planning, and coordination with other fireline resources. Practical field exercises and simulations will be utilized to develop participants' abilities to assess firing opportunities, implement firing plans, and monitor fire behavior to achieve desired fire management objectives.

NWCG S-230, Crew Boss (Single Resource), is an intermediate-level course designed to prepare firefighters for the role of Crew Boss in wildland fire incidents. This course focuses on developing the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and effectively lead a crew in firefighting operations. Participants will learn about crew organization, leadership principles, communication, tactical decision-making, and crew resource management. The course also covers incident size-up, risk assessment, fireline construction, and safety procedures specific to the Crew Boss role. Practical field exercises and simulations will be conducted to enhance participants' leadership abilities and operational effectiveness as Crew Boss.

NWCG S-231, Engine Boss (Single Resource), is an intermediate-level course designed to prepare firefighters for the role of Engine Boss in wildland fire incidents. This course focuses on developing the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and effectively manage an engine and its crew during firefighting operations. Participants will learn about engine operations, tactics, and strategies for various fire situations. Topics covered include engine safety, deployment, use of water and foam, and coordination with other firefighting resources. Practical field exercises, simulations, and case studies will be employed to enhance participants' abilities as Engine Boss and their capacity to make sound operational decisions.

This course is designed for structural departments who see the need for additional training for their company officers and command staff.
This one day course focuses on “need to know” wildland fire topics and how to be in a wildfire mindset. This informal course allows your officers to ask questions and apply your department’s policies to a wildfire response.
